About V. Kelly
V. Kelly where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in the Biggest Little City: Reno/Sparks, Nevada.
Where do you live now?
A small town in Oklahoma. We only have one stop light and it blinks red most of the time . Don't blink or you may miss us.
What made you start writing?
I started writing because there were too many voices talking in my head. People were always having conversations with each other. I didn't want to be rude and eavesdrop, but when they insisted on me writing down what they were saying, I obliged.
What are some of your favorite things?
My family, the color green, autumn when the colors are at their brightest and the weather is at its most temperate, frogs, otters, movies, and music of all kinds. I collect Pop! Figures, I never miss an episode of The 100, Game of Thrones, The Challenge, or The Walking Dead.
What's next from V. Kelly?
Right now I'm working on the second book in the Montgomery Ranch Series called Just A Little Bit Rock 'N' Roll, I'm also working on the second book in the Forbidden Love Affair series called His Little Pyro, and I'm hoping to finish the third book in the It Had 2 B U series called Finding the Gray.
What's some of your writing rituals?
When I'm writing I have to have music playing in the background. What kind of music depends on the book I'm writing, but it's usually rock, pop, or country music. I also love Tootsie Pops, if I could have a box of Tootsie Pops near my desk to suck on while I write, I'd be a happy girl.
Personal Note to my Readers:
2017-2018 was a very hard year for me. On November 22, 2017 my daughter Aspen was diagnosed with Leukemia. This totally changed everything in my life. I went from working full-time and writing part-time to quitting my job and staying home with my kids so I can take them to doctor appointments. Writing became difficult for me. I had so much stress that I couldn't focus on writing anything. The books I did get out were darker than my normal romantic comedies. I had to postpone my release of Finding the Gray, and ended up starting new series instead. Now, my life has evened out a bit. I am starting to write again, and I'm looking forward in putting out new material for all of you. Thank you for standing by me. I hope that my upcoming books will make you laugh, swoon, and have you turning pages.
With all my love,
