Blog Spotlight: Smokin' Hot Reads Book Blog

February 15, 2020

I've decided to add two new amazing features to my blog that will be published on the fifteenth of every month. I've already talked about my Author Highlight, so it's time to talk about my Blog Spotlights. The Blog Spotlight will feature a new blog for readers/authors to follow. I will feature a new blog every month. I will ask some questions to the owner(s) of the blog and give my followers information about what they do and what they love. My hope is to spread the love of books and get these amazing bloggers some more likes.  Make sure you hop over to their page and hit that like button!

For my first Blog Spotlight, I've chosen to interview the amazing women of Smokin' Hot Reads Book Blog

I recently found out about this blog through one of the organizers, the amazing author Maria Vickers. I'll  be featuring her in an upcoming Author Highlight, but I hear she's a master at writing MM books and sexy reads. :)

Now that you can find the blog, let's get into the interview shall we?

Q and A with Smokin' Hot Reads Book Blog:

1.)  How many people currently run your blog?

We currently have four people running our blog.

2.) Introduce yourselves, what's your name(s)? Can you tell me a little about yourself?

Hi I'm Becky!

I'm a mom of three boys. I teach middle school Reading and English, so I get paid to read sometimes! I'm a huge Cardinals baseball fan. I've always been a huge reader. I was reading Stephen King novels by the time I was ten! I will read just about any genre, and frequently do. One of my main rules is that I never put anything in my classroom unless I've read it first, so I often read middle grade novels as well as the adult novels! I read quickly, but form attachments to the characters, so I love good series!

Hello All, I am Jamie!

I am 36 years old, married for 10 years this January, and have 2 beautiful kiddos. I live in St. Louis, MO. and I am a huge baseball fan.. go CARDS! I do currently have a full-time job in healthcare but my passion is reading and of course my kiddos. (If you couldn't already tell from my pic.) I have to admit, I did read some when I was a teenager, but fell off the wagon for a while. When the Harry Potter books came out I jumped right back into the reading world.. and then we can't forget Mr. Grey who brought on a whole new meaning to reading for me. After I read 50 Shades of Grey, I jumped and bought a kindle and dove right into Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire and I was a goner in the Indie world after that. I have been blogging for about 3 years and love every minute of it! I love almost all romance genres or really any story that can grab me from the first page and not let me go till the last page... or series, cause we all know the dreaded cliffy's are lurking about.

Hi everyone, I'm Krista.

I'm a 36 year-old married mother of two boys. I currently work in healthcare even though my degree is in restaurant/hotel management (it's a long story). I've always been a reader. I had gotten sidetracked and was brought back into the reading world when the Twilight series hit the shelves. I quickly followed up with 50 Shades of Grey and haven't stopped reading since. I am generally quiet and shy unless I know you, but if I see someone reading, I often find myself asking them what they are reading. I love to offer out suggestions and add books to my TBR list and bond over fictional characters. I read just about any genre but I'm always in search of a HEA.

Hi everyone. I’m Maria, author, reader, blogger.

I love anything to do with books. Writing or reading…it doesn’t matter. Romance would probably be my favorite genre, but I read almost anything and don’t stick to one genre…unless I’m writing a book. Romance always slips in, and I can’t exclude it. My debut novel came out in 2015, and I write both MM and MF romance. My favorite authors to read are Julie Garwood (her FBI series is amazing!), Dahlia Donovan, Rowan Shaw, and Alice Rachel (her dystopian series is mind blowing). Reading transports me to new worlds and allows me to meet new people. Always discover new authors and books, live your life, smell the roses, and never take for granted the little things. You never know when everything will change. As a Navy brat, I have moved all over, but currently call Missouri home…for now. I miss living in Texas. LOL. Live, laugh, love, and enjoy the ride.

3.) When did you start the blog?

Krista and Jaime started the blog in 2014, but we all came in at different times. We've had a few people come and go, Maria joined in 2015 when we needed a fourth person, and Becky came soon after.

4.) What made you start your blog?

We wanted to share our love of books with everyone.

5.) Is there any specific genre you focus your blog on or are you open to all genres?

We are open to all genres, but our main focus is Romance of all kinds. We have been known to do YA, mystery, or thriller here and there though.

6.) What kind of features does your blog offer readers and authors?

For authors/readers we offer Release Blitzes, Cover reveals, and book announcement posting. We also do reviews.

7.) What is your favorite thing about reading?

There are magic and power in words. Reading takes us to a fantasy world, and we can block out all our problems and pretend we're living in that world.

8.) What are you currently reading?

Maria: Pros and Cons of Vengeance by A.E. Wasp

Jamie: Flame (Web of Desire 2) by Aleatha Romig.

Becky: Finding Him (Covet book 2) by Rachel Van Dyken.

Krista: Flame (Web of Desire 2) by Aleatha Romig.

9.) What w
